Gene Therapy Success Against Cancer

Via the Wall Street Journal, I just read a press release from the National Institutes of Health regarding the first successful treatment of advanced terminal melanoma using gene therapy in a study conducted by Dr. Steven A. Rosenberg, M.D., Ph.D of the National Cancer Institute. While alot of further study and tests need to be done, this looks extremely promising. With my personal situation, and the situation of several of my family members, and our opposition to embryonic stem cell experimentation, it's even more interesting to note that no such cells (or adult stem cells) were apparently used.
