State Department Populated by a Bunch of Wimps

The United States State Department has long been a dysfunctional bureaucracy - conducting its own brand of diplomacy for decades and populated by a bunch of liberal Arabists who only care about diplomacy for diplomacy's sake, never seeking real solutions. The problems with the State Department became worse under the Bush Administration when they actively preached a UN-centric foreign policy at odds with the Administration and the best interests of the nation. Turtle Bay has needed a personnel and policy enema, from top to bottom, for many years.

And now, according to CNN, we can add another descriptive phrase to those associated with the employees of the State Department - cowardly wimps. They're refusing to serve in Iraq, where they really can make a difference, and are upset that some of them now are going to be ordered to go.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Calling it "a potential death sentence," several hundred diplomats expressed their resentment Wednesday over a new State Department policy that could force them to serve in Iraq or risk losing their jobs.

Some diplomats may be forced to serve in the new U.S. embassy complex under construction in Baghdad, Iraq.

Some at the hourlong town hall-style meeting questioned why they were not told of the policy change directly, learning about it instead from news organizations last week.

Others pointed out the risks of such a rule, considering the dangers of a war zone, lack of security and regular rocket attacks on U.S. personnel.

Welcome to the real world, State Department diplomats. It's one where bosses tell their employees what to do - and they actually have to do it. I have a deal for any so called State Department 'diplomat' that has a problem of my description of them as narcissistic, duplicitous, liberal appeasement cowards in it to enrich themselves at the expense of our nation. I'm the primary caregiver for my mother (as I was for my father, until he passed away after a long illness). You find someone to take over that position for me full-time (because that's what it takes) and I'll go over to Iraq to do your job - and do it better than you ever could.
